What is Angel Food?

With a heart to help others and a generous spirit, Joe & Linda Wingo founded Angel Food Ministries in 1994 to provide food for friends and neighbors who were struggling financially. Today, they are still doing the same thing. The Angel Food program now is helping provide food relief to more than 500,000 families each month.

By buying food from first rate suppliers at substantial volume discounts, Angel Food Ministries is able to provide families with approximately $65 worth of quality nutritious food for $30. Angel Food Ministries does not use out-of-date food or inferior products.

About the Food
Each month's menu is different and consists of fresh, frozen and packaged food. Angel Food is purchased from the nation’s top food suppliers. Providing quality, nutritious food at significant discounts on a regular basis is one practical way to give people a “hand up” during difficult times. The cost for a box of Angel Food is $30. There is no purchase limit for boxes of Angel Food. There are no applications or qualifications necessary to purchase.

Angel Food Ministries, like most all other retail grocery stores, also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp program. We utilize a KIOSK System (tablet computer and card swiper). Beside the EBT (food stamp) card, we accept cash, checks, money orders, Debit Cards and Credit Cards {American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard}. All purchases using a “CARD” must be made in person using the KIOSK System. All other purchases can be left in the Drop Box at the Family Life Center, mailed in or made using the KIOSK System. There is a $1.00 convenience charge when make a purchase with a debit or credit card.
