Giving
Giving is a vital part of personal worship. The scripture teaches that where our treasure is, there our heart will be also (Matthew 6:21). We encourage believers to exercise obedience in the area of financial stewardship according to biblical principles. The practice of tithing (one tenth) of one’s income is a principle established in the Old Testament (Leviticus 27:30) and confirmed by Jesus himself in the New Testament (Matthew 23:23; Luke 11:42). Further, the New Testament teaches that we are to give as we have prospered (1 Corinthians 16:2). Thus, we believe obedience in stewardship begins with the tithe and culminates in giving as one prospers.
