Carpenters for Christ

Background

In 1999 a group of members from Lindsay Lane Baptist Church founded the LLBC Carpenters for Christ (CFC) ministry. The CFC ministry was made up of a small group of members that had historically gone on building projects with a Carpenters for Christ group out of Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. We had prayed that we would find another group that would join with us to give us the numbers we would need to form our own missions group. A newly formed group from First Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama had been praying that they would find a group to join with. The combination of these two groups that joined forces has made up the core group since 1999. In 2005 a new group from Clements Baptist Church joined with the existing LLBC/FBC group and has been an integral part of the group since. We’ve also had members from other past project churches join with us as well.

June 2010 – LLBC Carpenters for Christ along with FBC Decatur, Clements Baptist and others will travel to Mississippi this to construct an approximate 10,000 square foot church building to house a new sanctuary, classrooms, and offices. Contact the church office at (256) 232-0020 for additional information.

During our Lisman project we also had a team build a two story connector building between this new family life center and the original church building as well as a covered drive through on the side of the family life center. Approximately 67 total volunteers from LLBC, FBC Decatur, Clements Baptist and others participated in this project.
