In preparation for my message on the annual State of the Church Address, I once again discovered just how blessed Lindsay Lane Church really is! God has poured out His rich blessings upon this great fellowship. In our brief 24 year existence, we have come to see an abundance of the "great and mighty things" God has done! Since our conception in 1988 (and even since my tenure as pastor in 1992, beginning with 32 members, 3 acres of land and a 5,000 sq. ft. building), this church has personally witnessed the mighty moving of the hand of God! Now almost 24 yrs. later with over 2,000 members, 27 acres and 124,000 sq ft campus, A Christian Academy K3-12, an abundance of baptisms and additions yearly, a spirit-filled choir & orchestra, very active in Missions and Ministry, state of the art Children's & Youth facilities, Senior adults who are active & involved, on and on....I'd say God has tremendously blessed and anointed LLBC for His glory! To God be the glory, great things He has done!!
BUT, that was yesterday...the past. What about right now? What about 2012? Where do we go from here? As always, we must continue the Vision that our God has blessed us with. The two great enemies LLBC must observe (other than Satan Himself) is growing Complacent and Satisfied! Living within and accepting Status Quo! So in 2012 & beyond, my prayer as pastor & shepherd of this great church, is that we as the Body & Bride of Jesus Christ, will continue to stay focused and dependent upon the mighty hand of our God's leadership by His Spirit and His Word. That we as a Church will not "grow weary in well doing" and especially in "well being" as a child of the King! May God continue to lead us with a desire to "Make a Difference" as we continue to be different in our spiritual growth. May LLBC continue to have a "whatever it takes" attitude to make an impact for the kingdom of God. And may we as people of God, continue in our missional quest to share the gospel of Jesus Christ within our Jerusalem and to the uttermost parts of the world! May LLBC always remember and be grateful for our God blessed history, but may we never grow complacent & satisfied in what God has called and anointed this great Church to accomplish! May we be found faithful to "Continue the Vision" in 2012 and beyond!
