What a tremendous month we’ve had during our November “Family Month”. And what a way to close it out than a service on “Laughing with the Family”! Dr. Dennis Swanberg did an amazing job of making us laugh! He is one funny dude to say the least!
I’ve never laughed so much in church! By the way, whoever said church was suppose to be boring! And then the message he brought…wow, what a challenge to the family in living our lives as an example before our children! I pray each of you were challenged and blessed during our month of Focusing on the Family. Psalms 127:1 states “Unless the Lord builds the house (home) they labor in vain who build it.” The home is God’s idea. God designed the home as the foundation of society to help meet the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the entire family. The family was created to be a lasting relationship. God’s word is so spot on….unless God is at the center of our homes/families most likely there will be constant chaos and broken relationships within the family. By the way, a home is more than a house where we live. A home is a family of people living, growing, learning and loving together! Our homes should therefore produce happy experiences. Probably all of us wished our homes resembled those of the Cleavers, the Cunningham’s or the Cosby’s! But, the truth is there are no perfect homes because we’re all imperfect people. Of all the things I’m involved in on a daily basis my family is the most precious blessing I have. Remember, without God in our home, it will become just a house!
