Eric’s Life Message: That every human being is uniquely created in God’s image and has a divine purpose for living the abundant life found only in a personal relationship with Jesus the Christ.
Personal Bio:
Eric Pugh grew up in Evergreen, Alabama, in the nurture and admonition of the Lord by his parents, Oliver and Billie Pugh. Eric has a deceased brother; Jerry, and one brother; Keith of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and one sister; Janice Lyon, of Hayneville, Alabama.
Eric served in the US Navy six years and during this time was born again by the grace of God. When discharged in 1979, he was employed with TVA at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. In Athens, he met his lovely wife, Susan and was married in 1980. God blessed this couple with Erin, Christopher, Lauren, Mary Kathryn, and Jordan as their children over the next 10 years.
While at First Baptist Athens, Eric felt called to preach the gospel as God provided opportunity and was licensed in 1983 by that church. Under the mentorship of Dr. Fred Lackey, Eric learned to make disciples of Christ through evangelism and discipleship.
In 1988, Eric’s family was invited to assist First Baptist Athens in establishing the mission church in Elkmont, Alabama, under the leadership of Pastor David Jones. During this ministry, Eric and Susan learned and grew in biblical truths related to family principles, missions, and the sanctity of human life. As God deepened these messages in his family, He broadened their borders of service and ministry.
The exciting journey of the Pugh family has brought them to this opportunity to serve the body of Christ at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church as Associate Pastor of Family Ministries & Missions.
Eric’s passion is to provide the opportunity to every person God brings across his path directly, or indirectly through various ministries, the opportunity to hear of God’s love through Jesus Christ, and if receptive to this love gift of salvation, to grow spiritually in the grace and knowledge of Him - until we get to see Him face to face in eternity.
